On Bumble, women make the first move. We believe relationships should begin with respect and equality. Career opportunities come about when you expand your network. Now, Bumble empowers users to connect with confidence whether dating, networking, or meeting friends online.

Bumble Bizz: User Interface Redesign

Currently, this section comes off as being a casual, relaxed way to network. After using this app myself, I found it to be a little too casual. My goal was to elevate this networking section in a way that was still casual, but less serious than networking on LinkedIn. Bumble is mostly used as a dating app. It also offers users the option to search for a friend in the BFF section, or to network through the Bizz section.

In the dating app world, users are almost always focused on the picture of whoever they are swiping on. The picture is their main concern and the short blurb about the person might be something they read after they look through the pictures, if at all. Once they reach the end of the pictures, they are left with their bio.

In Bumble Bizz, the layout is almost exactly the same as the dating section. Users can still swipe up and down on a specific person, but the bio section is the only difference. The layout presented shows a brief bio where the user can explain what they are looking for, followed by their work experience and education.

In the real world, networking and dating are very different, and that should be reflected in this app. I rearranged the Bumble Bizz layout to focus on his skills, as well as his interests and projects. This information is much more relevant to users because they can get a sense of who Kevin is and they can relate to him on a deeper level if they share some of the same interests.

Their connection will also become more meaningful. Prioritizing Skills and Interests over Profile Pictures. This information will help users have a much better idea about what it might be like to work with Kevin, making their decision to swipe right or left much easier. I included a section where Kevin could feature some of the projects he has worked on that showcase his skills to users. When a user taps on one of his projects, it will expand with a summary of what the project consisted of.

If a user wanted to connect with him on these other platforms, they would easily be able to do so. In addition to connecting through the app, the users of Bumble Bizz can have the option to connect on other platforms. They can start building their network on Bumble Bizz, and continue to grow it outside of the app.

With this updated profile section on Bumble Bizz, users can make more informed decisions about who they want to network and connect with. Bumble should change their Bumble Bizz section to correctly represent how networking occurs in the real world.

When you network in real life, you typically learn about what the person does, where they went to school, and what some of their hobbies or interests are. Because Bumble is best known as a dating app, users might not take the Bizz section as seriously as they should.

By updating the Bizz section to showcase more than what a person looks like, Bumble Bizz will attract more users and be much more successful. Sign in. Bumble Bizz: User Interface Redesign. I've been using Tinder and Bumble lately and I feel it's all based on the first the tone and voice of the app to redesigning the user interface. I wanted to update the user interface of Bumble's “Bizz” section, which is where users can connect with the goal of networking with each other.

I wanted to explore the user experience,. What works well? Based on user research I decided to redesign the home page, change the current task flow and add a new feature. Online dating is now one of the primary ways for people to meet partners.

Currently, this section comes off as being a casual, relaxed way to network. After using this app myself, I found it to be a little too casual.

Bumble Web: The Bumble Experience, Without Your Phone!

One of the best aspects of Bumble is the app design, which is simple and clean. There is a fair amount of white space when needed and the perfect use of images. When users intend to quickly swipe through potential matches, the app needs to have clarity and avoid clutter. Speed and immediate gratification is expected on a platform like Bumble. When exploring competitor apps, I noticed the most attractive and user-friendly platforms were the ones with an intuitive design and neatness.

UX Case Study: Bumble Mobile App

I have written a considerable amount of articles on a variety of UX design topics , covering subjects as niche as mobile app pop-ups to concepts as spacious and all-encompassing as design itself. But instead of honing in on one issue, it is often beneficial to study UX by viewing it holistically, examining how different design techniques coalesce to work as a whole in a functioning application. UX is more than just a checklist of design practices and techniques — they need to work in harmony to become something greater than the sum of their parts. So as to explore this holistic view of UX, I conducted an in-depth UX case study of a mobile application. An exercise in scrutiny, this article places an app under a microscope and critically examines it through a user experience lens, acknowledging its highlights and diagnosing its pain points. While the UX case study described in this article is about a particular application, it will hopefully inspire you on how to conduct a UX case study. Bumble , a popular dating app, met both criteria. Their gimmick paid off. Boasting over seven million users , Bumble is one of the most popular options today. What do they do well?

Making Bumble safer by promoting sexual responsibility and non-violent behavior.

So, I decided to solve this problem with the design. After making a few assumptions myself, I asked a couple of friends to support or contradict my assumptions with data, and help me find any other pain points.
